Member Spotlight: Dr. Scena Webb, PCC

“There is water in every desert.”

For Dr. Scena Webb, PCC, this phrase reflects both her journey and her way of moving through the world. With a warm smile, bright eyes, and a voice that draws you in, she reflects that even in difficult or uncertain seasons, there is always something life-giving to be found.

Scena’s path began with her service in the U.S. Navy and continued through her work as a federal civilian. These experiences taught her important lessons about leadership and fueled her curiosity about how people think and act, a curiosity she expanded by earning a Doctorate in Management (DM).

Why Coaching?

Scena discovered coaching in 2014 when a colleague invited her to join the Treasury Executive Institute’s coaching program. “I wanted to learn how to coach myself,” she says. “I was under stress and wanted to stay sane.”

What began as professional curiosity became a personal transformation. “Psychology is a way of thinking,” she explains, “Coaching is a way of being. It allowed me to calm myself, to meditate, to find perspective.” Prayer and meditation remain central in her daily rhythm. “They restore me,” she says. “I sit outside, listen to the birds, and let the sunlight in.”

What’s Next?

After 42 years of service, Scena retired in September 2025 and began a new chapter focused on reflection, freedom, and giving back through coaching.

Through her newest venture, Scena Solutions, she supports people navigating leadership transition, especially doctoral students writing their dissertations.

She also leads Celebrate, Inc., a nonprofit she founded in 2011 to coach military veterans as they transition to civilian life — work that holds deep meaning for her as a Navy veteran.

Scena is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and serves the coaching community as an ICF mentor coach. Since 2012, she has also taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Public Administration program at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Now based in Jacksonville, Scena looks forward to connecting more deeply with ICF North Florida. “I just want to be Scena,” she says, “a member in community—learning, giving, and soaking up the light.”
