Member Spotlight: Conchita Robinson, PCC

Some coaching journeys begin with intention. Others begin with invitation.
For Conchita Robinson, PCC, it began with a simple request from a senior leader: “Can you help me think through this?” That conversation—one of many early, informal coaching relationships—grew into a 25-year career supporting leaders, teams, and organizations.
Today, as the founder of C. Robinson Associates, Conchita works primarily with executive-level leaders across transportation, human services, and planning agencies nationwide. Her work spans executive coaching, strategic planning, organizational assessments, and leadership development, often delivered through a team-based consulting model.
Jacksonville Native to IBM Executive to Trusted Advisor
Conchita was born and raised in Jacksonville, attending school in South Carolina as a math major with a dream of becoming a university professor. But life took a different turn when her STEM background made her a top candidate for one of the world’s largest organizations.
Before launching her firm in 2002, Conchita spent more than two decades at IBM, ultimately leading a $4 billion U.S. business with over 1,000 team members. Beginning as an engineer, she advanced into senior leadership roles where she focused on building teams, translating complex challenges, and delivering results through people.
Her clients often seek her out for that reason—valuing a coach who understands not just leadership theory, but the realities of executive life.
Coaching the Whole Person
Conchita sees leadership challenges as fundamentally human.
“Human behavior is human behavior… we have to coach the whole person.”
Whether working with a CEO or a leadership team, she integrates organizational context with individual insight—helping clients move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
A Business Built on Relationships
“When we leave a business, it has to be better than we found it.”
Conchita and her team embed within organizations, working alongside leaders to assess challenges, build plans, and implement change. This approach delivers results and builds trust, creating opportunities for deeper collaboration over time.
A Perspective on Leadership Today
“I think we’re going to have a leadership crisis… people are starving for more connection.”
Conchita is thoughtful about what she sees emerging in today’s leadership environment. She notes fewer opportunities for in-person development and connection—something she believes has implications for future leadership pipelines.
Her focus remains on strengthening leaders and teams through intentional development and meaningful engagement.
Beyond the Work
Outside of her professional life, Conchita finds renewal in the rhythms of water and sound—time near the ocean, travel to the Caribbean, and music. She also serves on the Jacksonville Symphony Board and the University of North Florida Foundation Board and supports organizations such as Operation New Hope.
A Final Reflection
When asked what advice she would offer fellow coaches, her answer was both practical and personal—coaching begins with how we show up, and credibility is built through alignment.
“[As a coach] take the time to self-assess… and make sure you’re walking the talk.”
